The word Kukkutasana is made up of two words in which the first word is “Kukkut” which means “Rooster” and the second word is “Asana” which means “Posture or Position”. The person performing this yoga appears like a rooster, hence it was named Kukkutasana or Rooster Pose.

Steps To Do Kukkutasana Yoga Or Rooster Pose:

Step 1:

To do Kukkutasana yoga, first, you spread a yoga mat and sit on it in the position of Padmasana Yoga.

Step 2:

Now put both your hands between your thighs and calves.

Step 3:

You have to sit in the position of Padmasana and put your right hand between the right thigh and the calf, towards the floor.

Step 4:

Now you have to put the left hand like the right hand between the left thigh and the left calf, down towards the floor.

Step 5:

You have to remove both your hands from the thighs and calves down to the elbows.

Step 6:

Now place the palms of both your hands well on the floor at a distance of 3-4 inches from each other.

Step 7:

Then raise your hips and feet off the floor while balancing on both hands.

Step 8:

You should stay in this Kukkutasana Yoga position for 1 to 5 minutes, or you can do it at your convenience.
